Nothing is more fun than a Rocky Mountain vacation, so play it safe while you enjoy the great outdoors. Here are a few tips to keep in mind.
Drink lots of water. One of the most common reasons people get sick while vacationing in the Rocky Mountains is dehydration. More water evaporates from your lungs at higher elevations, so your body can become dehydrated quickly. Some people don’t feel thirsty, so it’s important to drink water even if you think you don’t need to. When I first moved to Colorado, I could tell I wasn’t getting enough water when my nose got stuffy.
Another problem encountered by people enjoying a Rocky Mountain vacation is altitude sickness. This ...
Post from: Rucksack Walking.

Safety Tips For Your Rocky Mountain Vacation

The Cotswold Way is a National Trail footpath which runs along the Cotswold Edge Escarpment of the Cotswold Hills in south west England. It runs from the town of Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire down to the ancient Roman city of Bath. It was a long distance footpath for a number of years, but officially became a National Trail in May 2007.
Along its route, the trail passes through many interesting places, a few of which are:
Stroud — a very arty town, known for its cloth and wool trade, and also for its involvement in the Industrial Revolution.
Painswick — an extremely picturesque and quaint small town famous for its wool trade.
Winchcombe – containing the famous Sudeley Castle ...
Post from: Rucksack Walking.

The Cotswold Way National Trail

The ancient Lycian way starts in the Mediterranean resort of Kas which is known for its rocky coastline and unpolluted waters.
On your Turkey walking holiday you will find the beaches of this region perfect for relaxing before you begin your walk along the Lycian trail. However, historically the city offers much more than perfect sandy beaches for sunbathing. Here you can join a glass-bottomed boat tour to the ancient sunken cities around Kekova Island where the secrets of ancient civilisations lurk out of reach. Not so out of reach are the ancient archaeological sites of Myra, Demre and the Xanthe Valley which give you the opportunity to walk around Turkey’s ancient past. Myra was the ...
Post from: Rucksack Walking.

Walking the Ancient Lycian Way

All regions of Morocco can be trekked if you want adventure. Unfortunately, some regions of Morocco require summer trekking experiences. Jbel Toubkal is the highest mountain peak in the Atlas Mountains. The higher elevations experience heavy snow fall during winter. It can also turn very cold up there during the evenings. For this reason Morocco tours will hike the mountain at certain parts of the year.
This is only a concern for individuals wanting the ultimate adventure. Anyone who is visiting Morocco to soak up culture can find Morocco trekking all year. These types of tours can be day hikes, overnight treks, and even a few days out in the mountainous regions of the country.
One of ...
Post from: Rucksack Walking.

Taking Trekking Tours in Morocco

For breathtaking walks in the Tuscany region head to the historic centre of San Marcello. History buffs will enjoy strolling through the town’s historic centre, which contains buildings such as the Consortium T’Delizia and The Observatory from where it is possible to view the star-clad skies of the region. Another important monument that you may want to visit on your walks in Italy is the Mammiano Suspension Bridge. Brave walkers may even wish to attempt to cross the rope clad bridge, which joins the two banks of the Lima River.
The Lima River is bordered by verdant woods, which offer a number of opportunities for tourists on their walking holidays in Italy. It is not only ...
Post from: Rucksack Walking.

Walking and Cooking in the Tuscan Hills
