		<description><![CDATA[I have just returned from a trip to Australia and I am planning on returning in October for a walking holiday, so I thought it would be interesting to log my 3 favourite Australia walking holidays from the research I have done to date.
I have put a summary of each trip below, but for anyone interested in reading more I will be publishing a separate article for each with the detailed routes, suggested timings, places of interest and hopefully some advice for each route.
My favourites:
No 1 &#8211; Great Ocean Walk, Australia. This walk covers 104km in 6 days and follows the path of the famous Great Ocean Road, from Apollo Bay to the 12-Apostles.

		<description><![CDATA[Firstly let&#8217;s talk about Porters. Most people trekking in tour groups, or treks organised by tour operators will be offered a Porter and I see quite a few people&#8217;s faces screw up when asked if they want one. Now the one thing I need to ask you is if you are not training for some marathon trekking expedition, why wouldn&#8217;t you use a Porter? Firstly, it is giving somebody a job that otherwise may not be able to feed their family more than a bowl of rice that week, and secondly isn&#8217;t it your holiday? So why are you putting yourself through hell!
