Hillwalking is a wonderful recreational activity but there are some risks attached.
These risks fall into three categories: the weather, the terrain and the fact that you are in the middle of nowhere. The higher up you go, the more the temperature drops, at a ratio of roughly 1 degree per hundred metres. The wind speeds often increase as you ascend, and it gets rainier and mistier too.
